CEO Climate Dialogue Statement Applauding the United States Rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement

January 22, 2021

The CEO Climate Dialogue (CCD) released the following statement in response to President Joe Biden and the administration’s announcement that the United States will rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement:

“By announcing the United States will be rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement on day one of his presidency, President Biden has sent a clear signal that action on climate change will be a priority for the administration. This is not only encouraging, but also necessary as there is urgency when it comes to combatting climate change at home and globally.

Just as America will be collaborating with global partners to address climate change through the Paris Climate Agreement, a broad-based coalition of leading businesses and NGOs will continue to work together through the CEO Climate Dialogue to spur collaborative and bi-partisan action on climate change policy.

The CEO Climate Dialogue applauds today’s announcement and looks forward to working with President Joe Biden, the new administration, and members from both sides of the aisle to enact climate policies that will increase regulatory and business certainty, reduce risk, and spur the investment and innovation needed to meet the emission targets outlined by the Paris Climate Agreement."
